Vonage and VoIP
I think I've had Vonage for almost 9 months now.  Despite the fact that I couldn't get a Puerto Rico area code (we only have two: 787 or 939) I really loved having VoIP.  It was cheap and when I was in the Dominican Republic, I could call home and talk for hours without worrying about long distance charges.  Of course, since my number had a Florida area code, people without long distance service couldn't call me and if they did they would get charged for it.  Then, the D-Link router they gave m

The Microsoft - Yahoo Merger: For Instant Messaging, It's Already Happened
Michael Robertson has something interesting to say about the Microsoft-Yahoo merger, still on hold, but likely, in the view of many observers, to eventually be consummated. Robertson is a pretty sharp guy. He founded MP3.com, which was bought by Vivendi Universal for a whole boatload of money in 2001, right before the dot-com crash. He founded Linspire, a flavor of Linux with a user interface that was inspired, if that's the word, by a very familiar one. I won't say which, except that the softwa

Hi! I work for ooVoo and just wanted to add a little bit more about what is going on with ooVoo and their 1.5 version. In addition to the free video chat service allowing user to record video chats/conferences, they can also do special effects with the video/pictures and send video messages. Now until March 1, the phone options allows free phones calls from anywhere in the world to US and Canada. Also, this week ooVoo is hosting My ooVoo Day, a chance for users to talk with other bloggers and experience the 6-way video chat. Mac users can also download the Mac beta there too. Check it out!
